Healthy Mocha

Into your Vitamix…

  • 2tbsp of raw almonds
  • 1tbsp of cacao powder
  • 1tbsp of dandy blend (an herbal coffee alternative)
  • 1tsp of maca powder
  • 2 dates
  • a pinch (or a drizzle) of vanilla
  • 1c of water

Process until slightly warm, pour into your favorite glass, sit back and enjoy!

It’s SO good.

The dates add just a hint of sweetness and the cacao mixed with the dandy blend…

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

OMGoolish, this is good!!!  🙂


  • 1.2c of pumpkin
  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1/4c of almond or coconut milk
  • 6 dates
  • A little knob of ginger
  • A dash of cinnamon, clove and turmeric
  • 1tsp of maca powder (optional)

Process all of the above in your vitamix or blender until smooth and enjoy!

Strawberry Coconut Popsicles

On our way outside with one of these in hand!


All you need…

  • 1c of homemade coconut milk (recipe posted yesterday)
  • 12-15 fresh organic strawberries
  • a pinch of vanilla powder

Process all of the above in a vitamix or blender and pour into tall shot glasses.

Place in the freezer for about half an hour and then carefully place your popsicle stick or cakepop stick in the center.

Leave them in the freezer for a couple of hours and voila!

Run a little bit of warm (not hot) water over the glass to remove the popsicle.

Great little treat for a sunny summer afternoon!

Coconut Milk

So, so simple.

We needed milk in a pinch and there were no almonds to be found.

Very exciting!

All you need…

  • 1c of raw shredded coconut
  • 3c of water

Place those into your vitamix or blender and whiz for about a minute.

Note:  if you prefer your milk a little thicker, use a little less water.

Pour the milk through your nut milk bag (or some cheesecloth) and there you have it!

You could add raw vanilla powder to make it vanilla coconut milk or you add a little coconut nectar if you need a bit more sweetness.

It’s pretty darn good all on its own though!

Keep it in the fridge and it probably should be consumed within three days.

Blackberry Chia Jam

It really doesn’t get much simpler than this.


You only need two ingredients and a teeny, tiny bit of patience and you have jam!

Raw jam.

No added sugar or pectin and no heat!  Just berries and chia.

First, place a cup of berries (any kind will work) into your vitamix or blender and whiz away until it’s a liquid.

Pour your berry juice into a small bowl and then stir in two tablespoons of chia seeds.

Let it stand for a few minutes and then give it another stir.

It’ll take about fifteen minutes or so for the chia seeds to work their magic…so worth the wait.

Pair this goodness with a bit of Dastony’s organic, raw, stone ground coconut butter… YUM!
