Booster Smoothie

If this doesn’t give you a kick start to your day, I don’t know what will…  🙂

We’ve been experimenting a little more with spirulina and this is our favorite so far.

What we used for two of us…

  • 1 banana
  • 1 green apple
  • 1c of kale
  • 1/2c of pineapple
  • 2tsp of ‘Truly Organic Foods’ spirulina
  • a small piece of fresh ginger and fresh turmeric (if you find it, it’s SO worth it)
  • juice of one lime
  • just enough water (or coconut water) to cover the goodness

Whiz away until smooth.

Today we added a little extra vitamin C because the small person in the house is having an argument with a cold.

Also, spirulina is a great source of iron and vitamin C helps with iron absorption.  🙂

Update 03/18:  after reading numerous articles yesterday, we have found information that indicates it is NOT recommended to use the entire apple… remove the core and seeds before juicing.   🙂
