Brown Sugar Shortbread

on November 15, 2012

We thought that we would repost this recipe because it’s so simple and it is that time of year.  🙂

Wait until you see what we do with today’s batch!!!  FUN!

What you’ll need…

  • 1c of organic butter
  • 1/2c of packed brown sugar
  • 2c of unbleached plain organic white all purpose flour
  • 1tbsp of organic corn starch
  • 1tbsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1tbsp of good vanilla

Cream the butter (if you’re using a kitchenaid or something similar, paddle attachment works best) then add in the sugar and blend until combined – creamy and fluffy!   Slowly add in the remaining dry ingredients and mix until combined.  Add the vanilla and mix another minute or so.

Refridgerate the dough for about fifteen minutes before gettin’ busy … gives you fifteen minutes to tidy up and get organized before the next step .  🙂

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and line your cookie sheet(s) with parchment paper.

Once the fifteen minutes is up, remove the dough and roll it out on a flat surface.  You want to roll it fairly thin … maybe 1/4 of an inch.

Choose the cookie cutter of your choice and cookie cut away.

Bake 12-15 minutes and voila!  Crispy little cookies that you and your kids will love!  Great with a cup of tea!

Have a great day y’all!
