Veggie Pate (Vegan & GF!)

I’m sure there are a few different versions of this one out and about, but for those of you that haven’t experienced the wonders of veggie pate yet ……………. you are certainly in for a treat.  This recipe will no doubt become one you use often!  🙂

It’s so simple to make and it’s so good for you… who doesn’t love food that tastes fantastic and is great for your beautiful body at the same time?!

In a bowl…

  • 1/2c of ground sunflower seeds
  • 1/2c of ground pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2c of gf flour
  • 1/2c of red star nutrional yeast
  • 1/2tsp of black pepper

Add in…

  • 1 grated, medium sized yam
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 2-6 clove of grated garlic (we use 6 – oh the smell when it bakes!)
  • 3/4c of water
  • 1/2c of good olive oil
  • 1/4c of wheat free tamari
  • juice of one lemon

Mix all ingredients together and pour into a pie dish (or something of similar size) and bake in a 350 degree oven for almost an hour.

Serve a small wedge with a little green salad for a light lunch or dinner…………..  or as an appy with rice crackers!

I personally love this one for breakfast!  🙂

    wow – this is so good, used 1 cup of cooked quinoa instead of flour and yeast, reduced water to half cup and added 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes…thanks so much, YUM!
